I want to twirl like a windmill,
In the wind on the top of a green hill.
I want to unfurl like the mast of a sailboat,
Gliding with the sea.
I want to turn into a seed,
And grow into an evergreen tree.
I need to die
To be set free.
I want to spin,
Like a roulette wheel.
I want to trip,
Like you in high heels.
I want to blend in with the dirt,
I want to be a part of the worms;
I need to die
To be set free.
I want to feel the ocean and see,
From the cliff, up above the beach,
The rocks underneath
And waves foaming at the water’s teeth.
I want to feel sand and grass under my feet.
I want to melt into the air and become dead meat;
I need to die
To be set free.
I want to watch the sun set again,
In the cool air,
And I want to watch it rise,
In the fog.
I want to see the things
That were in front of me all along.
But I need to die, to truly see;
I need to die to be set free.
